After HBO’s Vinyl and Showtime’s Roadies have both been cancelled due to failing figures (and the latter cited as condescending and boring) many people are asking if the music industry has been squeezed dry and bled to death in TV Shows. Enter FX’s Atlanta…

Written, directed and exec produced by Community’s Donald Glover. Atlanta follows two cousins; Princeton drop-out Earn Marks (Glover) and Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) a local rapper and dealer whose music is about to get noticed.

After just three episodes, FX’s new half-hour comedy is breaking viewing records and looks like its diverse comedy and Southern charm are here to stay for the long haul. With both these shows, it helps if you love hip-hop but we promise that you’re gonna love Atlanta for the shits and giggles.
